VT Changes Its Arrest Reporting Policy

In recent Virginia Tech news, it is now required for students to report any arrests they get. The previous policy just made students report any convictions they got, such as felony charges. Although it appears that the college will be more lenient with these arrests, making no repercussion unless you lie about the details of the charges. This is both good and bad depending on your perspective. In my opinion it is a bad thing. Students may be suspended or kicked out of school just because of an incorrectly filed police report, or missing info from a police report. This could lead to unnecessary punishment. Also if a student were to not be aware of this rule, or the fact that it changed, could get them into some serious trouble. I think the old way should be reinstated, or there should be some sort of wiggle room.
